ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Day is being celebrated today (Monday) with traditional zeal and enthusiasm for which preparations have been completed for the conventional parade being held after a gap of seven years at the newly constructed Parade Ground near Faizabad Interchange in Islamabad, Dunya News reported.
The day dawned with 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salute in provincial capitals.
Special prayers offered in mosques after Fajr prayers for progress, prosperity and solidarity of the country.
It will be a public holiday today and the national flag will be hoisted on important government and private buildings across the country and all Pakistani missions abroad.
Various political, social, religious, educational and other organizations have arranged functions to highlight importance of Pakistan Resolution that paved the way for the creation of an independent homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent.
A ceremony will be held at Aiwan-e-Sadar in the afternoon wherein President Mamnoon Hussain will confer 159 civil awards and 52 national awards to different personalities for their outstanding performance in their respective fields.
