Summary Al Qaeda commander Umar Farooq was killed during security forces operation in Tirah Valley.
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Several militants, including Al Qaeda commander Umar Farooq, were killed during security forces operation in Khyber Agency tribal region’s Tirah Valley on early Monday morning.
Some sources said that Taliban chief Mullah Fazlullah was also among those killed, but there was no official confirmation.
Sources further said that for the last couple of days, the hideouts of banned organisations have continuously been targeted by the security forces. Tirah valley is home to militants of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and an allied group called Lashkar-e-Islam.
