Summary Sindh Parliamentary committee said that current flood has proved more devastating than last year.
As it has brought havoc not only to the people but economy of the Sindh also has been badly affected.The National Disaster Management Authority Chairman Dr Zafer Qadir while briefing the committee, formed by the Prime Minister, said that flood in Sindh has affected about 4.5 million of acres of land causing destruction to the crops of poor farmers.The committee while talking to the media said that current flood has proved more dangerous and devastating as compared to the last year, adding that it has not only brought disaster to the human lives but a large number of cattle and dwelling of people have also damaged.The committee appealed to the world community to stand by Pakistan in this hour of trial.Committee members also said that they would also provide edibles and other things to the flood affectees after having a contact with the provincial and district administration.The Committee said that they have provided shelter to 275,000 people in 2,490 relief camps, adding that it is not enough for the affectees. The committee also said that dozens of villages have been destroyed due to calamity, bringing destruction to more than half a million houses in different localities.The Met Department has forecast that more rains are likely in next week which may bring more decay and destruction to the ill-fatepeople.
