KARACHI (Web Desk) – Sindh High Court (SHC) on the request of the federal government has temporarily allowed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to issueweapon licenses, Dunya News reported.

A three-member bench headed by SHC Chief Justice Faisal Arab heard a petition filed by a citizen.

The petitioner was of the view that the federal government is issuing arms licenses through NADRA despite the Supreme Court and Sindh High Court’s order. This action is contempt of court.

In response, a petition was submitted by the federation, requesting that issuance of weapon license through NADRA should be allowed under the prevailing circumstances until the court issues its final verdict on pending petition.

After hearing arguments, the Sindh High Court temporarily allowed NADRA to issue weapon licenses.
