ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday opposed formation of judicial commission to probe alleged election fraud on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) demand, saying that no legislation can contradict the constitution, Dunya News reported.

According to details, a session of leaders of parliamentary parties was chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in which views over formation of judicial commission were exchange.

Dunya News sources say that MQM has opposed the formation of the judicial commission. Talking in the session, MQM leader Farooq Sattar said no crucial legislation can contradict the constitution, adding that the formation of the judicial commission is a violation of Articles 225 and 189 of the constitution.

All other parties, however, endorsed the formation of the judicial commission.

Reportedly, MQM also sought time to meet Prime Minister over Karachi situation.
