Summary He said he only talked to UK High Commissioner over Altaf Hussain's tone during telephonic addresses

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar on Tuesday said that the government hasn’t handed over any documents to the United Kingdom authorities relating to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain.

Addressing a media conference, Nisar said he only talked to the British High Commissioner over the tone used by MQM chief in telephonic addresses.

The interior minister reiterated that Saulat Mirza’s execution was halted upon Balochistan government’s request and that it was further delayed in order to investigate the fresh allegations leveled by Mirza against MQM leadership.

He said final decision about Mirza s execution will now be taken by the President, keeping in view the fresh death warrants issued by the court.

Talking about death-row inmate Shafqat Hussain who was allegedly a juvenile at the time of sentencing, Nisar said convict’s age was not contested during trial and appeals. He said the government halted the execution for a month in order to ensure the due process was followed in the conviction and sentencing and to determine his accurate age.

Federal minister said that the government did now cow down to any foreign pressure, saying that it was the country’s internal matter. He said providing justice to the boy murdered by Shafqat Hussain is equally important as well.
