KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Karachi police on Sunday killed three terrorists, including commander of a banned organization, in an encounter in the Sohrab Goth area of Karachi. On the other hand, Rangers arrested 22 suspects of target-killing and extortion from various parts of Karachi, Dunya News reported.

According to the details, police raided Sohrab Goth on receiving information that seven terrorists were present in the area. The suspects started firing from a machine gun upon police’s arrival, fired rockets and threw bombs at the police.

In view of the aggravated situation, police called in the commandos. More than 400 police officers encircled the area. According to SSP Malir Rao Anwar, those murdered belonged to a banned outfit and explosive material was found from their possession. One of the terrorists was identified as Commander Qudrat Ullah whereas four of the suspects succeeding in escaping.

Meanwhile, Rangers arrested 22 suspects of target-killing and extortion from various parts of the city. Paradi police also arrested four suspects in an operation.

12 terrorists have so far been killed in Karachi under the National Action Plan, according to DIG West Tahir Naveed. According to Tahir, 18 foreigners have been arrested and 157 kilograms of explosive material has been found. He told that progress has been made in the investigations of attack on Rangers. He said that body parts of the attacker have been sent for DNA test.
