WUHAN/RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Navy has taken a major step forward with the launch of its fourth Hangor Class submarine, GHAZI, at Shuangliu Base in Wuhan, China.

With this milestone, all four submarines under construction in China are now undergoing rigorous sea trials and nearing handover to Pakistan.

The launch is part of a broader agreement between Pakistan and China for the acquisition of eight Hangor Class submarines. Four of these vessels are being built in China, while the remaining four will be constructed domestically at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Ltd (KS&EW) under a Transfer of Technology (ToT) programme.

Each Hangor Class submarine is equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and advanced weapons systems capable of engaging targets at standoff ranges. These submarines are designed to play a pivotal role in ensuring regional peace and maritime stability, reflecting Pakistan Navy’s ongoing commitment to modernisation and strategic readiness.
