Punjab cabinet expands Counter Terrorism Department jurisdiction under Safe Punjab vision

Punjab cabinet approved expansion of CTD jurisdiction, bringing Koh-e-Suleman and Rajanpur under CTD Dera Ghazi Khan, covering all districts of the DG Khan Police Region.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Under the Chief Minister of Punjab’s “Safe Punjab” vision, the jurisdiction of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has been expanded.

The provincial cabinet approved the extension of CTD’s mandate.

Tehsil Koh-e-Suleman in Dera Ghazi Khan has been brought under CTD jurisdiction, while Rajanpur tehsil (excluded area) has also been placed under the jurisdiction of CTD Dera Ghazi Khan.

With this expansion, CTD Dera Ghazi Khan’s jurisdiction will now cover all districts of the Dera Ghazi Khan Police Region, which includes Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, and Rajanpur.

Under the latest decision, the previous notification dated September 27, 2019, has been amended.

Following recommendations from the Home Department and cabinet approval, a formal notification has been issued.
