LAHORE (Muhammad Ashfaq) – The Lahore High Court on Thursday dismissed a miscellaneous petition filed regarding the recovery of Fouzia Bibi, who was allegedly abducted from Kahna.
LHC Chief Justice Ms. Aalia Neelum heard the petition filed by Hameedan Bibi.

During the hearing, the petitioner accused the police of torture and claimed that the police had begun pressuring them to withdraw the petition.

The petitioner’s lawyer informed the court that not only the petitioner but two of her family members were also subjected to police torture, and that they were being forced to take back their petition.

Chief Justice Aalia Neelum asked the lawyer whether any medical examination had been conducted to prove the torture. The lawyer replied that they had gone to General Hospital, but the police did not allow the medical examination.

The CJ further asked where the individuals who were allegedly tortured were. The lawyer responded that they were at home. At this, the CJ remarked, “You are making claims in the air. How can I accept them? What evidence is there before the court to support this claim?”

After dismissing the petition, Chief Justice Aalia Neelum stated that such allegations must be supported by concrete evidence before the court; decisions cannot be made solely on verbal accusations.
