Summary Libyan rebels on Thursday took control of the Wazin border post on the Tunisian frontier.
Fighting has rocked western Libya for several days, with many people reported to have been killed in Nalut and Yefren.The UN’s aid chief Valerie Amos on Thursday warned against overlapping the lines between military operations and relief work in Libya. She said that there was no need yet to accept an EU offer of military escorts to protect aid deliveries.The two towns southwest of Tripoli have been pounded by forces loyal to Gaddafi and local residents said thousands of Libyans from the area have already fled to Tunisia.Meanwhile, Libyan rebels on Thursday took control of the Wazin border post on the Tunisian frontier after overrunning Moamer Gaddafi’s forces.The Wazin border post is on the road to the Tunisian town of Dehiba. Two other roads also traverse the international border.
