Summary Supreme Court Bar president said ISI, Army, Judge or Taliban dare not to threaten any bar member.
Asma Jahangir, while chairing the annual bar meeting, said that she condemns such incidents which had took place before this. She justified that she had not issued the statement on the tip of any person or agency.She said that no judge could claim to be the owner of the judiciary; rather it is a state institution for rule and law and guardian of human rights of the citizens. While commenting on Aitzaz Ahsan’s statement, she said that there is no concept of justice without democracy.She said that she had a wish that judges should be selected on merit basis but, unfortunately, judges are selected keeping in the view the vested interests of political parties. She said that she had no personal grudge with any ad-hoc judge; rather she is against ad-hocism.
