KARACHI (Dunya News) – The suspended SSP Rao Anwar on Friday said that he has arrested Khawaja Izharul Hassan according to the law, and he could be released by the orders of court only, reported Dunya News.
Talking to the media Rao Anwar said that he did not need anyone’s permission for the arrest. Farooq Sattar should also be arrested, he said. Rao said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Khawaja Izharul Hassan was the chief of the target killers and FIRs were registered against him. He further said that no permission from Assembly speaker was needed for the arrest of any Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) or Member of National Assembly (MNA). “I have not been ordered by any agency but made the arrests according to the law only” Rao said.
Rao Anwar also said that media has been misguided about the situation, we have not raided and searched Khawaja Izhar’s house. He said that we went there to arrest Khawaja Izharul Hassan but he was not there. Rao also said that Karachi would see side effects of my suspension.
