Summary PBC chairman says accountability of superior judiciary is need of the hour
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) demanded the Supreme Court (SC) to take suo moto notice of the Panama Leaks, further emphasising upon the initiation of the investigation of the matter from Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, reported Dunya News on Saturday.
PBC has also demanded that the Supreme Judicial Council be made functional in order to conduct accountability of the top-level judges of the country. PBC chairman Abdul Fayaz demanded that other politicians need also to be investigated but the process must begin from the PM. He stated that accountability of superior judiciary is also equally important and is the need of the hour.
PBC chairman added that the investigation of the Panama Leaks issue should not be delayed, further stating that a petition will be submitted in the Supreme Court if the investigation is not initiated within 15 days.
