Summary PPP leaders demand biometric verification of the votes cast in two constituencies
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has rejected the results of the by-elections held at Peshawar s PK-8 constituency as the provincial heads of the party have decided to take the matter to the court, reported Dunya News on Saturday.
While addressing a joint press conference, PPP leaders demanded that the votes cast in UC Khazana and UC Haryana be biometrically verified. Furthermore, the party has also setup a legal committee under the leadership of Barrister Masood Kausar to look into the matter.
PPP leaders alleged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of rigging the elections. They stated that initially, it was declared that PPP won the by-elections of the very constituency but the result was then changed and PML-N’s candidate was declared as the winner.
