LAHORE (Dunya News) – Yousaf, who was alleged earlier as the suicide bomber of Lahore blast, and his family members have been declared innocent by Inspector General of Police (IG) Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera on Wednesday as the family members were detained to their residence for 3 days, reported Dunya News.
After the deadly suicide attack in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park Lahore, Yousaf, resident of Muzaffargarh was declared as a suspected suicide bomber on the basis of his ID card recovered from the crime scene.
Earlier, authorities had raided the area of Sehrani, Muzaffargarh and arrested 3 of his brothers Sajjad, Abdul Sattar and Abdul Ghaffar along with cousin Muhammad Shaukat, uncle Muhammad Iqbal and another cousin Kashif, a chemical engineer, were taken into custody for 3 days while family members of Yousaf were also confined to their house.
After bieng declared innocent by IG Punjab, his family members were released after their plea was aired on the media.
After the release, Yousaf’s family members left for Lahore in order to receive his body.
