Summary General Akar awarded over his services towards strengthening strategic ties between Pak, Turkey
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday presented the Turkish Chief of Defence General Hulusi Akar with the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) or the Order of Excellence award for military services, reported Dunya News.
The award giving ceremony was held at the Aiwan-e-Sadar and was attended by the Turkish ambassador to Pakistan, Pakistan Secretary Defence, Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and General Rashid Mahmood.
The award was given to the Turkish Defence Chief for his commendable services in regards to strengthening the strategic ties between Turkey and Pakistan.
While conversing with General Hulusi, President Mamnoon congratulated him upon receiving the award and appreciated his role in enhancing the relationship between the armed forces of both countries.
President Mamnoon condemned the recent suicide bombings in Turkey and stated that Operation Zarb-e-Azb will continue in Pakistan until terrorism is wiped out. He added that both countries are tied with each other religiously, culturally and historically.
President also acknowledged the various democratic steps taken by his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan and also praised Turkey’s role in the joint efforts of Pakistan, Turkey and Afghanistan to restore peace in the latter.
General Alusi thanked President Mamnoon for giving him with the prestigious award and resolved to further strengthen the ties between the two countries in the future.
