Senate Committee approves merging NARA with NADRA

Summary Special secretary for Interior told committee that APS attackers couldn’t be named publically

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Senate’s Standing Committee for Interior has on Tuesday approved merging National Alien Registration Authority (NARA) with National Database Registration Authority (NADRA). Special Secretary for Interior told the committee that the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar attackers cannot be named publically, reported Dunya News.

Standing Committee’s meeting was chaired by former Minister of Interior Dr. Rehman Malik. He demanded the bodies of two leaders hanged in Bangladesh to be brought to Pakistan and bury them here with complete national awards. The committee also approved merging NARA into NADRA.

Briefing the committee, IG Sindh told that the kidnapping for ransom cases in Karachi have ended completely. He said that more police personnel are needed in Karachi.

Special Home Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) told the committee demanded Rs. 66 billion for upgrading the forces and the jails in the province. He said that the APS Peshawar attackers cannot be named publically.

The committee expressed disenchantment over the absence of IG and Chief Secretary of KP.

Rehman Malik condemned hanging pro-Pakistan political leaders in Bangladesh and demanded that the government must bring back the bodies of the martyrs to Pakistan and offer them 21 salutes.

Standing Committee for Interior also approved NADRA Amendment Bill 2015 according to which NARA, institution for the registration of foreigners in Pakistan, will be merged into NADRA.
