Summary Number of policemen must be increased to 35000

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore Police has requested for increase in number of policemen and police stations in the Lahore from CM Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday.

In a letter to CM Punjab, Lahore Police has stated that in order to maintain better standards of law and security in the city, additional policemen and police stations are needed hence the demand of additional resources should be met. It is further stated that currently there are 84 police stations and 24 checkposts in the city which are insufficient to meet the needs of the city.

The checkposts, numbering 24, must be upgraded to status of police stations, stated the letter. The letter also added that the current number of policemen, 27000 in number, must be increased to 35000 to better police presence and security in the city.
