Summary Current security measures have been taken due to the last phase of local body elections

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Interior Ministry Sindh has extended the ban on display of weapons in the metropolitan city for the duration of 90 days. It also banned police lights on private cars as well as black shades on vehicles, reported Dunya News.

In a notification issued by Interior Ministry Sindh, article 144 has been invoked for a further 90 days. Private security guard without proper uniforms cannot handle weapons whereas the notification also mentioned that police lights on private cars as well as black shades on vehicles have been banned as well.

It is pertinent to mention here that the current security measures have been taken due to the last phase of local body elections.
