ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) -- Islamic laws should appear before the Islamic Ideology Council before being tabled in the parliament floor, said Moulana Sherani, Chairman Islamic Ideology Council on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.
During a meeting presided over by Moulana Sherani, members of Islamic Ideology Council suggested that laws should be made that would allow Islamic laws to be scrutinized by the council before being tabled in parliament.
Moulana Sherani said that men do not need to seek permission from their wives to marry another women, adding that the council had passed its verdict on the matter.
Some ‘forces’, the moulana said, are trying to press their agendas in the name of freedom.
The Moulana further added that Islamic Ideology Council would present its report on the year 2011-2012 to parliament soon.
