Summary CEC's name would be announced before Dec 1; are in process of consultation, says opposition leader.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Opposition leader Khursheed Shah on Friday showed discontent over government’s performance stating that they wouldn’t be seeing this day if the government was efficient.
We can appoint Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan as CEC and I can make all other parties agree to it but Khan might object to his own name, he criticized.
He further stated court orders regarding Imran khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Tahirul Qadri should be implemented.
State holds the status of a mother; one must fight with the government but not the state, he added.
Khursheed Shah said the announcement of a name for fresh Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) will be made well in time before December 1.
Talking to the media outside the Parliament House, Khurshid Shah said government and opposition both are responsible for appointment of CEC adding that dissension over the appointment caused the delay.
He said he was in the assembly when PM called for consultation over CEC’s appointment and later when he called back Nawaz Sharif was offering prayer. He assured that the matter would be discussed by today.
