LAHORE: (Dunya News) Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahir ul Qadri has said that the families of the deceased in the Model Town incident are still not being allowed to register FIRs of the incident. While addressing the All Parties Women Conference organized by Women Wing of the PAT at Minhajul Quran International (MQI) Secretariat in Model Town Dr. Tahirul Qadri said that for fourteen hours the constitution of the country was held hostage by the Punjab Police and nobody bothered about it. “What right do the rulers have of governing after violating the basic human rights of the people living in their country”, asked Dr. Qadri. “How can justice prevail when criminals are the ones responsible for dispensing justice”, he asked.
He said that the families of the people murdered by the Punjab Police during Model Town incident are still not being allowed to register FIRs against the culprits. “It is height of cruelty that more than a month has passed since the Model Town incident took place but the FIR of the case has not yet been launched”, said Tahirul Qadri.
Dr. Qadri opined that the rulers of Pakistan did not have any right to consider themselves as democrats.
