Summary Shireen Mazari says PTI has not entered in any political alliance in Punjab.
ISLAMABAD (Online) - Central Information Secretary Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Shireen Mazari has denied rumours of any PTI alliance with Pakistan People’s Party in Punjab.
As per reports, on Wednesday Shireen Mazari said that meeting held in Lahore between PTI, PPP and Jammat Islami (JI) leaders at Mian Manzoor Wattoo s residence was in regard of to ally together on a one-point agenda to oppose the Punjab Local Government Bill.
“Meeting was not to create an overall political opposition alliance in Punjab as was reported in some sections of the media”, she added.
Dr Mazari said that, all opposition forces in Punjab oppose LG Bill, and that is why opposition is allying together to challenge this Bill, which reflects a reversal to military dictatorship models of the past.
“That is the only issue-specific alliance PTI has formed in Punjab,” she concluded.
