Summary Sanaullah was attacked by the Indian prisoners in jail in Indian Occupied Kashmir last week.

 

SILAKOT (Dunya News) - The body of Sanaullah‚ who was subjected to violence by prisoners in Jammu Jail and passed away in the Indian city of Chandigarh‚ arrived Sialkot on Thursday. His dead body was shifted from Chandigarh to Sialkot in a special PIA plane.

 

The body will be handed over to Sanaullah’s family after the postmortem at Allama Iqbal Hospital Sialkot.

 

Sanaullah‚ who had mistakenly crossed the Line of Control‚ was severely beaten by other prisoners in Jammu Jail on May 3 and he was shifted to a hospital in Chandigarh.

 

Foreign Office spokesman Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said that a special plane has been sent to Chandi Garh‚ India to carry dead body of Pakistani prisoner Sanaullah.

 

In an interview in Islamabad today he said no explanation has been given by Indian authorities so far about the crime of Sanaullah and neither was he granted consular access for the last 15 years. He said it is inappropriate to compare Sanaullah with Sarabjit Singh who was a terrorist.


Pakistan s prisoner‚ Sanaullah who was under treatment in a hospital in Chandigarh‚ India has succumbed to his injuries.

 

He was admitted to the hospital with severe injuries after being assaulted and tortured by Indian prisoners in a jail in occupied Kashmir last week.



The attack had come a day after a convicted Indian spy Sarabjit died after being attacked by fellow inmates at a Pakistani prison Kot Lakhpat Lahore.


Sanaullah remained in Indian jail since 1995.


Meanwhile‚ Pakistani High Commission in India has demanded to hand over the dead body of Sanaullah to Pakistan.
While expressing grief and shock over the incident‚ Pakistan has demanded for investigation on international level into the murder case of Sanaullah.


The Commission has expressed sympathy with the bereaved family. The High Commission has suggested for agreement regarding safety of prisoners between India and Pakistan.
