Summary Mandviwala rejects all apprehensions about Pak economy, shuns rumours of bankruptcy.


ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Addressing a press conference here Monday, Federal Finance Minister Saleem Mandviwala said that Pakistan was in touch with the IMF, and was paying its installments as per schedule.

 

“Pakistan is the 6th biggest country in the world and there is no question that it goes bankrupt,” the minister said.
He said Pakistan Steel Mills has been rehabilitated after Rs 14 billion package by the government.


The problems of SSO and Ministry of Water And Power have also been solved, he said.

 

The minister informed that funds have been allocated to PIA for purchase of new airplanes.


He said growth rate target would be raised by 5 percent.
