Britains Senior Commander in Afghanistan James Bucknal has said hasty withdrawal of foreign soldiers could undermine recent successes against the insurgency.The force needed to remain broadly at its current strength for the next two fighting seasons, meaning troops should not be withdrawn before the autumn of 2012, he said.
