British PM decides not to provide Gaddafis opposition with weapons

Summary The British Prime Minister David Cameroon has discarded plans to implement a no fly zone over Libya and provide Gaddafis opposition with weapons.

According to an American newspaper, the opposition party of President Gaddafi requested military assistance from the international community. They also asked for a no fly zone over Libya and that the president’s army bases should be attacked. The protesters said that they did not need the army instead they need weapons.On the other hand the United States said that they have not yet received a request for military aid. The British Prime Minister David Cameroon also discarded his plans to make a no fly zone over Libya and provide Gaddafi’s opposition with weapons.The British newspaper, Guardian stated that Prime Minister David Cameroon while addressing the parliament said that they will only supply weapons to the opposition in Libya. The British army raised their concerns regarding the PM’s recommendations and said that there could be grave consequences.
