Summary The United Nations suspended Libya from the U.N. Human Rights Council. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged to stop violence against the protesters.
Addressing to the General Assembly, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon said that first and foremost task was to stop the human tragedy in Libya. He said that the peaceful demonstrators were tortured and targeted with bullets and thousands foreigners were still stranded in Libya.The U.N Secretary General stressed the need for immediate evacuation of foreigners from Libya.He said that waves of a change were surfacing in Africa and the Middle East and the U.N was seeking a normal situation on urgent basis.United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon concluded that the U.N was ready to help Libyan people and the government.
