Summary 17 people died when protesters and supports of the president of Libya clashed. The protesters stormed and took over an army base near Zavia. On the other hand, the United Kingdom has said that Gaddafis assets worth the billions of pounds will be frozen.

The army open fired on gunmen who were taking refuge in a mosque near Zavia. According to one doctor, there were 10 dead bodies at a temporary hospital and there were more than 150 injured people. On the other hand, a Libyan website states that 30 people have been killed. The Libyan president is adamant that Osama Bin Laden is behind the uprising against him.An American newspaper reported that the rebels are now marching towards Zavia which is 30 kilometers from the capital city. The newspaper also reported that the rebels are moving towards other important cities near the capital. Meanwhile the United Kingdom has said that they have formed an investigative commission to verify the assets of President Gaddafi. According to reports, Gaddafi has about 20 billion pounds worth of assets in London and among them includes a 10 billion pound villa.
