Summary Modi spoke of successfully completing joint initiatives between the two countries.
KABUL (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the renovated Stor Palace in Kabul along with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani through video conferencing on Monday, reported Tolo News.
"India’s 1.25 billion people will always be on Afghanistan’s side in terms of working towards peace and stability," said Modi.
Modi spoke of successfully completing joint initiatives between the two countries, including the new Afghan parliament and said these initiatives symbolize "the foundations of a modern Afghanistan.”

He said the two countries had always had good relations. "In our hearts and minds, Indians and Afghans have always been close friends," he said.
He said the restoration of Afghanistan’s palaces was an important step in restoring the country’s rich heritage and went on to say:
"India will always work with you (Afghanistan) for a bright future."
He also described the Stor Palace as a reminder of Afghanistan’s traditions. "To those who can’t see beyond shadows of violence in Afghanistan, restored Stor Palace is a reminder of the glory of Afghanistan’s traditions," he said.

Afghan President expressed gratitude and thanks to Indian PM for his help to restore the historical building.
"Let me express my most sincere thanks to the government and people of India for standing beside us in days of happiness and sorrow."
Ghani however emphasized the need for Afghanistan to work towards prosperity and said the "country has a right to live in peace."
