Summary Space shuttle Discovery astronauts Steve Bowen and Alvin Drew kicked off their second spacewalk Wednesday after a brief delay caused by a leak in Bowen's spacesuit.
220 miles above earth, the spacewalk, intended to support maintenance of the International Space Station, was scheduled to last six and a half hours. This is the second and final spacewalk for the mission. Discovery is scheduled to spend a week at the station, although NASA is considering adding an extra day. Due in large part to high operating costs, NASA is ending its 30-year shuttle program in about six months.
