Summary In order to recuperate the ecosystem, various kinds of river life weighing 20 tons have been released in Chinas Yangzi River. These include small fishes, crabs and other living organisms.
In Shanghai, the growth in construction of buildings near the river, and immense fishing caused the river life to decrease. This is the sixth attempt since 2001 for improving the ecosystem.
