Summary Japan is to launch on Saturday its newest high-speed train, upgrading its fleet of bullet trains for the first time in 14 years.
The new aero-dynamic green, pink and silver train is named Hayabusa or peregrine in Japanese and will be the fastest in the nation at an operating speed of 300 kilometers per hour. This still falls short of Chinas Harmony Express, a cross-continental rapid transit known to fleet at maximum 350 kilometer-per-hour, but will be servicing the newly opened Tohoku line to the city of Aomori, some 713.7 kilometers north of Tokyo. Its first class service or GranClass, featuring genuine leather seats with personal reading lights and leg-rests.
