Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel was awarded Germanys highest sports award in Berlin on Friday, following in the footsteps of Michael Schumacher who received the same medal in 1995.The German double world champion received the award from acting German President Horst Seehofer, the countrys interim head of state following the resignation last week of President Christian Wulff.Vettel seemed at ease during the ceremony at Schloss Bellevue castle, the German presidents official residence.You might know that I like to collect cups and trophies and thats why this one is something very special, something you cant get every year like in Formula One, he said. Rather, its probably only once in a lifetime.Vettel called the decoration a very big honour, adding: I am happy to be here today to receive the award - after Michael, Michael Schumacher and other great sportsmen in Germany.
