England’s Jonathan Trott remained the fourth highest run gatherer of the Cup by scoring 422 runs in seven innings. In bowling, Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi was the joint leading wicket taker along with Indian seamer, Zaheer Khan, as both the bowlers sent a batsman back to the pavilion 21 times but Afridi played one match less than Zaheer.Kiwi bowler Tim Southee took 18 wickets in eight matches and perched himself on the third spot. South Africa’s Robin Peterson claimed 15 scalps in seven matches.Sri Lankan maestro Muthia Muralidhran, who has retired from the international cricket, booked the fifth spot with 15 wickets in nine matches. Sangakkara was also the most successful wicket keeper of the tournament by claiming 14 victims, including four stumps.
