Summary Sachin Tendular could not make his 100th century in the final of the World Cup 2011.

Pakistan cricket team skipper Shahid Afrid had predicted that master blaster Sachin Tendulkar would have to wait for his 100th century in international cricket. He had said, before the match, that his team would not allow Tendulkar to make a century in the semi-final clash and Tendulkar was bowled out at 85, even dropping of four of his catches. Afridi had said, “Sachin will have to wait until after the World Cup to reach the landmark.” The skipper’s prediction has been proved today when the little master was bowled out by Malinga after scoring only 14, in the final of the World Cup 2011. Having started the tournament with a world record 97 centuries, Sachin scored two more in the tournament, against England (120) and South Africa (111).The 37-year-old, who has struck 51 centuries in tests and 48 in one-day internationals, last year became the first to crack a double century in an ODI when he scored 200 not out against South Africa at Gwalior.
