Summary The LHC accepted a petition against Inspector General of Police Punjabs appointment for hearing.
The petitioner’s counsel Advocate Fakhir Razzaq had filed a petition in the Lahore High Court, taking the stance that IG Punjab was CCPO Lahore at the time of attack on Sri Lankan cricket team.The petitioner further said that the inquiry commission had suggested action against the CCPO but the government promoted and appointed him as Punjab IGP which is illegal and unconstitutional.The court admitted the petition for hearing and issued notices to federal and provincial government.
