Summary Hindu community held a silent protest against abduction of minorities for ransom.
They also demanded the government to provide them shelter and protection. A large number of children also participated in the rally in front of provincial assembly.A Hindu merchant Ravi Kumar was abducted to death. On this occasion, Hindu ministers Zamrak Khan and Basant Lal assured the protestors that a special committee would be formed to conduct an inquiry to review incidents of abduction and murder.Protestors while rejecting such committees demanded that practical actions should be taken to secure their lives and property.
