Summary A public park in G-10 sector has been turned into a safe haven of narcotics use.

They said the police and CDA inspectors are ignoring their demands to check activities of drug addicts. They also said that the park is in dilapidated condition and its boundary walls are broken and people have even taken away bricks of these walls, said a retired government employee. He said the sector has only one park but the residents cannot benefit from it. We cannot go for walk and stray dogs block the passages made for use of walkers,” he said.Lightening system is out of order and at night the park plunges into darkness. The addicts throng to it and start pollute the environment with puffs of charas charged cigarettes. We cannot come here with our families for walk due to these bunches of addicts dangling around all the corners of the park, said Muhammad Hanif, a trader. These addicts are also involved in the incidents of thefts and their presence in the park has given rise to street crimes as the outlaws assemble there for satiating their thirst of addiction by minting money through street crimes, said residents of area.Social circles have demanded of the concerned authorities to take action against the addicts and cleanse the park from them besides shaping it into real place of recreation.
