Summary The Punjab government has filed case against two illegally run medical colleges.
According to sources, case was registered against Ameena Anayat Medical College, Sheikhupura and Azra Naheed Medical College, Lahore while notice was issued to cancel the affiliation of University College of Medical and Dentistry, Lahore from University of Health Sciences.Meanwhile, Punjab government has constituted a committee under chief secretary Nasir Mahmood Khosa to investigate the complaints against the said colleges. Other members of the committee included senior member of Board of Revenue Sami Saeed, secretary special education Najam Saeed and Zafar Iqbal.The decisions were taken during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The sources said that chief minister was informed during the meeting that these medical colleges were working illegally.
