Summary A lawyer was shot dead by some unknown people in Defence area of Karachi.

Mohammed Murtaza Chinoy was shot dead when he was sitting in his office at Zamzama Commercial Street. The single gunshot proved fatal for the lawyer and he was declared dead on arrival at Jinnah hospital.According to police, 35-year-old Murtaza was murdered due to some old enimity.Chinoy was called to the bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1999. He had previously read law at the University of Kent, Canterbury. When back in Pakistan he had worked at Orr, Dignam & Co., a corporate commercial law firm. Last year he had branched out on his own to form Mohammed M. Chinoy & Co.Chinoy, a resident of Bath Island was unmarried and the only son in the family.On the other side, Karachi Bar Association has announced to observe a complete strike today against the killing.
