The police official, Asad, who burnt himself in the premises of the Supreme Court building was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) intensive care unit of the burn centre.Doctors at PIMS said that 40 percent of Asad’s body had burnt, including his hands and left side of the body. Asad had burnt himself on Monday after handing over a letter to Dunya News.According to the letter, he had left with no other option but to set himself on fire.He said that his second wife was a relative of his superior officer, who did not like Asad marrying his relative so he suspended him under false allegations. Asad said that he had been visiting the court for three years but all went in vain so he burnt himself out of extreme despondency.
