Summary The IG Punjab appointed DIG Maj(r) Mubashar as the chief of inquiry body to probe police encounters.
Shahbaz, resident of Shadbagh, was killed in a police encounter in Nishter Colony a few days back. The inquiry officer, Mubashar, termed the encounter fake and fabricated and recommended stern action against the people responsible for the crime.The HC Chief Justice warned the Punjab IG, the Lahore CCPO and the Operations DIG in the light of the report and ordered an impartial inquiry into all the police encounters occurred over the year.
