Summary An attempt to marry a minor boy with a 17-year-old bride was foiled in village Sargana, near Mailsi.
According to information, marriage procession of eight-year-old boy Muhammad Amir reached village Sargana, in Mailsi to marry a 17-year-old girl Farzana Bibi under a marriage exchange (Watta Satta) deal.The area police, on information, reached the spot and arrested groom Amir and recovered Farzana. According to the mothers of the groom and bride, the marriage was arranged after mutual understanding between the two families.
