PMA demands pay raise for doctors, paramedics

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, President Dr Ashraf Mizami and other office-bearers of Pakistan Medical Association said that only 0.57 percent of GDP has been spent on health sector in Pakistan.They also demanded pay raise for doctors and paramedics in the coming Punjab budget. They were of the view that mobile health unites have proved to be a total failure and said that resources should be utilised to improve the infrastructure of basic health units.The office-bearers of Pakistan Medical Association also expressed concern over the standard of private medical colleges.
