Summary The LHC has ordered the protection of a Chinese company to operate CNG buses in the city.
Dr Waqar Ali, country manager of the Chinese company, told the Lahore High Court (LHC) that Shahzad Akhtar, leader of a famous group, along with several police officials, is booking him under false cases. Waqar Ali said that they were also threatening to kill him.The court remarked that foreign industrialists were already wrapping up their investments and leaving the country. Hence, if anyone is willing to make an investment, he will be provided with complete protection. The court accepted the petition for a hearing by the Chinese company and sought a reply from the deputy inspector general (Operations) for answers.
