Summary FIA arrested five officers suspected in Rs 70 million fraud in GPO Gurjats saving bank branch.
Assistant Director Munawar Iqbal Ranjha during anti-fraud operation raided various post offices in Gujrat and arrested deputy senior postmaster Muhammad Saeed, Ghulam rasool, postmaster Arshad Mehmood, Ghulam Shabir and Muhammad Afzaal.Earlier, FIA officials received complaint of Rs 10 million fraud, however, after scrutiny of the official data, investigators revealed embezzlement of Rs 70 million between January 2010 and September 2011.FIA has also summoned director accounts and other staff members of Pakistan Post by May 2.
