Summary Memo Commission allowed Hussain Haqanis counsel to go abroad for cross-examination of Mansoor Ijaz.
On the second day of testimony, Manzoor Ijaz also recorded his statement before the commission by video link.Hussain Haqqani’s counsel Zahid Bukhari also expressed doubt about the faith of Mansoor but he recited Kalma (There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His prophet).Memo commission led by Justice Qazi Faez Isa conducted hearing of the case when accused recorded his statement by telephone.Attorney General Mulvi Anwarul Haq was also present. During court proceedings, Mansoor Ijaz’s council Akram Shaikh produced new copies of BlackBerry messages before the commission.The commission also consulted Mansoor that the telephone bill produced in the court was not his personal; how is it possible to take the statements right.Replying to this question, Mansoor said that the telephone number has been set in the name of company.While justifying about his creed, Mansoor said that he is a Muslim by the grace of Allha Almighty.Before this, the commission also heard petitions regarding Zahid Bukhari’s going abroad for cross-examination, scientific test by forensics laboratory and provision of attested copies of evidence.Justice Isa remarked that Mansoor Ijaz may be cross-examined without any repression.
