Summary LHC sought reply from Attorney and Advocate General on possibility of Senate polls delay.
Chief Justice Azmat Shaikh heard the case when counsel for the petitioner said that current member assemblies have been elected by bogus voting lists; therefore they cannot elect members in the Senate polls. The petitioner also requested the court that this function is against the true spirit of the law and the constitution; so order should be issued to postpone the Senate polls. While accepting the petition for hearing, the court has ordered the Attorney General and the Advocate General Punjab to appear before the court on February 15.
